Newton J. Smith is President & CEO of IBM Daksh Philippines. In this role, he is responsible for the financial outcomes of IBM Daksh Philippines and also oversees service delivery, operations, and customer satisfaction for the Philippine Business Unit. IBM Daksh is a business unit within IBM’s Managed Business Process Services (MBPS). MBPS delivers clients a range of process services offerings combining IBM’s transformation and consulting capabilities with outsourcing.

Newton has a wealth of experience in IBM, having joined IBM Australia in 1984 and again in 2002 through the acquisition of PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting. He has more than 24 years of experience in the fields of Sales, Telecommunications and CRM. Over the years, he has played the roles of Sales Manager – IBM Australia, Director – IBM Australia, CRM Solutions Architect – GBS, and Call Centre Practice Leader A/NZ – GBS. Immediately prior to assuming his present role at IBM in the Philippines, Newton was the Asia Pacific CRM Solutions Leader for Managed Business Process Services. Besides IBM, Newton has also played leadership roles in organizations like Optus Communications, TeleTech and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Newton holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
