NAMED TOP PINOY EXEC

TELECOM executive
Manuel V. Pangilinan was recently cited as the “Global Filipino Executive of the Year.”
Citing his outstanding achievements in business, distinguished judges
from local and foreign business communities recently awarded Pangilinan

“This award is unexpected, but is nonetheless most appreciated,” said
Pangilinan, who was chosen for his management achievements which
catapulted the companies under his watch into new levels of growth,
achievement and recognition and pioneering achievements that created
innovative products and services; and his involvement in corporate
social initiatives.
“Aside
from our involvement in the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.,
we’ve invested great efforts in building up the infrastructure
businesses under the wing of Metro Pacific Investment Corp. These
investments are the result not only of hard-nosed business calculations
but also spring from our desire to help the Philippines acquire the
vital infrastructure that it needs to become more prosperous in the
next few years,” he added.
Organized
with the help of the local and foreign business communities to promote
the Philippines worldwide, the Asia CEO Awards recognizes individuals
