The Filipino is Also Worth Delivering For

Asia Logistics Summit 2017, presented by LBC Business Solutions, is a full-day event featuring the leaders of the logistics industry.

The event brings together the elite of the new and old who are changing forever logistics and supply chain management as we know it:
+ Inanc Balci | CEO of Lazada, the nation’s dominant online retailer and one of the most valuable companies
+ Tonet Rivera | Global Supply Chain Head of Mead Johnson
+ Noel Abelardo | CEO of Transportify, who is revolutionizing on-demand delivery
+ Albert Go | CEO of Lalamove, who is also revolutionizing on-demand delivery
+ Christine Pardinas | Supply Chain Head of Rustan Supercenters, one of the nation’s largest retailers
+ Bert Lina | Founder of Air21, one of the Philippines largest freight and cargo forwarding company
+ Bernard Poplimont | Regional CEO of Puratos, who supplies finicky food products to most of Asia’s bakers
+ Constantin Robertz | MD of Zalora, the nation’s largest fashion-specific online retailer
+ Elmer Sarmiento | CEO of Royal Cargo, one of the region’s largest logistics groups with global operations
+ Jay Ferrer | COO of Generika, one of the nation’s largest and most innovative supply chain pharma companies

Explosive growth by technology-enabled companies is dangerously upsetting traditional industries. Philippines has the highest logistics costs among ASEAN countries, according to the World Bank. It is 18 times more costly to send a container from port to warehouse in Philippines than it does in Thailand, a country with similarly horrific traffic.

Business groups widely cite logistics and transportation costs as a key obstacle holding back competitiveness in manufacturing and export industries. Another result is higher prices for all consumers since logistics costs are so outrageous — between 24% to 53% of wholesale prices in Philippines.
